"Persuader's are action-loving, "here and now" realists with excellent people skills. Informal, risk-taking, fast-paced and adaptable, they are not always in agreeance with rules and regulations. They are tactical problem solvers that desire quick results. ESTPs, who present a friendly and enthusiastic face, are straightshooters that are able to handle criticism."


I agree with the fact that I am a “here and now" type of person and I do believe that my strongest attributes are my people skills. I am adaptable and do enjoy fast paced work. However I don't believe that I am not always in agreeance with rules and regulations, quite the opposite as it is an area that usually sees my laid back nature disappear!  It is also reassuring to see that the area of work these types of personality fit into, amongst others, are a Marketer or Sales rep

After reading the book Artful Persuasion by Harry Mills (2000) I discovered an evaluation of the ESTP personality type which went into further detail and enabled me to link this personality type in terms of persuasion.



"I am talkative, communicate enthusiastically and share personal facts more readily"
This is great in terms of persuasion because of the strong link between communication and persuasion. If a person cannot communicate effectively persuasion is unlikely to be succesfully. The fact that I am willing to share personal facts more readily shows that I am comfortable infront of who I am with, which almost shows an element of trust making persuasion a great deal easier. However it can have negative effects being too talkative means the other person may sometimes not be able to get a word in edge ways!

"I present facts and evidence first, ask lots of how/what questions and value real life experiences."

" I use cold hard facts to persuade others and weigh the pros and cons of each example"

"I like to keep options open and I am flexible about positions"
